Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data THE LIFT LAB collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written for customers in the United Kingdom and reflects our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
THE LIFT LAB is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our trading address is available on request, and you can reach our privacy contact at our contact page.
What we collect
Order information. Name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number, collected when you place an order.
Payment information. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by Shopify Payments and the payment providers you choose at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
Marketing information. Your email address if you choose to sign up for our welcome offer or newsletter.
Technical information. Basic device, browser and usage data generated as you move around the site.
Why we use it
To take and fulfil your order, to handle returns and customer questions, to keep records required by law, and — where you have asked us to — to send occasional emails about new products and routines. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (orders), consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies), legal obligation (tax and accounting records) and legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and improving it).
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the shop: Shopify (store and checkout platform), our payment providers, and our shipping and fulfilment partners. They may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum are in place. We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for six years to meet UK tax requirements. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the cart and checkout to work, plus a small amount of local storage to remember your basket and whether you have already seen our welcome offer. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us via our contact page. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever our practices change. Please check back occasionally for the current version.
